IT
IS OFTEN NECESSARY TO CONTROL VEHICULAR AND PEDESTRIAN
ACCESS TO RESTRICTED AREAS
This
can be achieved in a number of ways:

Automatic
gates, Powersafe builds and
automates gates and car park barriers of all shapes, sizes & construction, whether
designed to slide parallel or to swing in or out. Its
down to the customers requirements.
Automatic
Traffic Barriers, with short or long boom arms, are
commonly used to control vehicular access to busy areas
such as car parks and can operate at speeds in excess
of 1.5 seconds. The booms are often fitted with options
such as flashing 'operational' lights and 'drop' skirts,
four such barriers were installed at this cheese factory
for Dairy Crestl.
Rising
Ramps are a reliable way of blocking access particularly
against vehicles with high axial weight. The unit retracts
flat into the ground to allow access and rises to prevent
entry. Due to the extremely strong construction of these
devices they are ideal for high security applications.

Retractable
Bollards operate in a similar fashion to the rising
ramps above and although not as physically strong they
are an excellent and effective way of discretely controlling
access to private car parks etc. Powersafe supplies many
of these systems to caravan sites and building management
organisations.

Turnstiles
are an effective method of controlling pedestrian traffic
to secure or controlled areas. Powersafe has installed
them in Office complexes Oil refineries, research establishments
and leisure complexes. They not only prevent unauthorized
access but can control the 'speed of flow' in high-density
public areas, also ideal for head counting.

Whatever
the gate or barrier Powersafe can integrate the operation
into an Access Control System, utilising card, code or
proximity entry, number plate recognition systems, CCTV,
intercoms, electronic tags or ground sensors etc.
